Dr. Angela (Angie) Bratton has been a Girl Scout for over 40 years beginning as a Brownie and continuing as a lifetime member. She earned the Gold Award with a project focused on sexual assault prevention. Through the Gold Award she earned a full scholarship to college. After moving to Augusta for work, she began serving on the Gold Award committee.
Angie is very grateful for the numerous leadership opportunities, skills, and friendships Girl Scouts provided, especially throughout high school. Whether being president of her troop, backpacking sections of the AT, attending a Destination in Nevada, or working at a GS aquatic camp, etc. Girl Scouting prepared her for future for research in Africa as an Anthropologist. These experiences enriched her life in a ways that school and other organizations she was apart of did not provide.
